My name is George Barrett and I live in Uruguay, although I am temporarily in Iguassu Falls, in the triple border of Paraguay, Brazil and Argentina. This area is considered by many as a paradise for insects and receiving many visitors from around the world who come to collect insects.

Even forbidden to have a private collection of insects (The scientists themselves are upset by this federal provision, it seems that the law makes no exception.) In Paraguay is also prohibited to collect insects, but you can get a permit through the Natural History Museum, fulfilling the requirements of the case.

My relationship with beetles began 5 years ago, when I met a Chilean entomologist in Paraguay, a friend of my sister. He is a great enthusiast and does not hesitate to go into the Paraguayan Dry Chaco, a vast region completely inhospitable and without even drinking water, to investigate Deltochilum, Dichotomius and Canthon. You are a very interesting person. I think that a lot of members here (including me!) are dreaming to do the work you do now. You said that you are searching for new species, do you mean new for you or new for everybody e.g. without an Latin name jet?

I would love to see some photos from your location and the insects you see there. Do you have only a collection of dead beetles or do you also breed with living ones?
